CL5080 is a unique product containing sodium nitrite, sodium molybdate and organic corrosion inhibitors.  It utilizes a synergistic combination of corrosion inhibitors to provide effective corrosion control in multi metal systems.  The unique feature of this product is that maximum protection is achieved at low inhibitor residuals in the recirculating water.  CL5080 provides an economical treatment program for "exposed" closed loop systems.

APPLICATION

CL5080 is formulated to provide maximum corrosion inhibition to ferrous and non ferrous metals in "open" or "exposed" chill water, pumped-storage, or fire water systems.  It is designed for use with soft or hard water makeup systems. CL5080 is designed for systems that may require supplemental microbiocide treatment to control microbial fouling.

DOSAGE & FEEDING

INITIAL CHARGE: Add CL5080 to the system to be treated at a minimum dosage of 2500 ppm.  This is equivalent to 29 fluid ounces of product for each 100 gallons of system capacity.  This dosage will give a NaN02 or Mo+6 residual range of 120 to 140 ppm.

The pH of the water should be in the range of 8.0 to 10.0 after the addition of treatment.  If, after treatment addition, the pH is below 8.0, add caustic soda to bring the pH in to the proper range.

MAINTENANCE DOSAGE: Routinely monitor the NaN02 and the Molybdate (Mo) residuals in the circulating water.  Add CL5080 as needed to maintain the desired sodium nitrite and Molybdate residuals.

FEEDING: CL5080 should be fed neat, from the shipping container by slug feed method or by an automatically controlled chemical feed package. Use of a microbiocide with CL5080 is recommended for "open" or exposed systems to control bacterial contamination.

HANDLING & PRECAUTIONS

CL5080 is a moderately alkaline material and will cause eye irritation. Use chemical splash goggles and rubber gloves when handling.  This product is harmful if swallowed.  Keep container closed when not in use and store in a protected location.

CL5080 is packaged in a five-gallon pail, weighing 45 lbs.
